Song of Survival

By Eleanor Harder and Ray Harder

Book by Helen Colijn,

Women in World War II Japanese prisoner of war camp create beautiful music to sustain themselves against the horrors of camp life. Present-day Helen, a P.O.W. survivor and the story’s narrator, speaks to her younger self urging forgiveness, while young Helen insists that the daily horrors be remembered. There are acts of selfishness among the prisoners, but also humor, courage and compassion. Above all, glorious music unites them in hope. Directed by Debbie Sutton.
